I Resolve 15/01/2012

I resolve to make a resolution.

It will not be a grand one.

It will be simple.

Something that I can stick to – but not trivial.

It will have meaning – but not mean the world to me (or anyone else for that matter).

It will be inspiring, though.  Something that will make me feel better for having stayed my course.

Yes.  Simple but hope filling.

It will be something that will make me feel alive.

It will need to be something that can be easy to keep – and yet a challenge as well.

I could spend a year making a resolution like that.

Perhaps this year I shall simply resolve to breathe …

… and not take every breath for granted.

I began reading countless neurology books and medical books alike; and this made me incredibly gratefull for being alive, and in a way, able to function as much as possible. It made me come to terms with how much life cannot be taken for granted, yet how much of it I do; and it was such a good decision I made. Not only that, but I’m a nerd, so the science part was also incredibly enjoyable. Good luck with this goal x

    • Thanks. I’ve decided that I am going to pack up stumps and move. House, job, the works. I’m getting crusty and I’m a long way from my best supporters so its all go, go, go at the moment – but kind of strange too. I’ve been where I am for a long time and there are people that I am sorry to leave behind. My blog will be a little spasmodic for a little while before it settles down to its former rhythm again.
You look like things are really moving along.

    • Hi. Yes I’m back. I’ll be a bit scatty for a couple of weeks yet as I have a lot on at the moment. Big changes and moves. Leaving some things that I’m attached to behind, but needing the changes that are coming. The things that are worthwhile I will find a way to sustain. I’m going to drive myself bonkers staying where I am although I will miss my place – I wish I could pack it up and take it with me wherever I go to next and just plant it somewhere nice.
If I vanish in fits and starts never fear I will soon be back and on topic with more to write and think about just as always.

Breathing is good. Stopping to breathe is even better. It’s a great resolution. Sometimes, in all of the chaos, we forget that we are only human. And we have human needs. Like air. Fresh, crisp, refreshing air.

If I understood correctly, you have before you a really hard challenge. Anyone can lay down a resolution with varying results, but to set yourself on the search for the resolution that will (as I understood it) meet the axis of “what you want”, “what you need” and “what you can achieve” is indeed a quest worthy of an active and self-aware mind.

Good luck, I hope you find it.
